Membership plans
A membership lowers the per-visit price for people who already book regularly. It also costs money for people who book twice a year and thought they would book twelve times. This page is as much about the second group as the first, because that is the part most providers leave out.
The honest arithmetic
The arithmetic is simple and worth doing before signing anything. A membership reduces the price per visit, so it pays from the point where the saving across a year exceeds what you commit. Below that frequency you are paying for visits you did not take.
The pattern we see repeatedly is people signing up intending to go monthly, going three times, and quietly paying for the rest. A subscription does not create a habit, and a provider who knows that and sells it anyway is not on your side.
So the advice is the same regardless of what it costs us: pay per visit until you have a real pattern, then decide. See drip pricing, group pricing and at-home visits.
Doing it properly
Three is usually enough to know whether this is something you actually return to or something you tried. Deciding after those three is a real decision rather than a hopeful one.
Ask what the per-visit saving is and how many visits a year it takes to break even. Any provider that cannot answer that plainly is not worth committing to.
People who keep memberships book the next visit before the nurse leaves. People who lapse intend to book later. That is the whole difference.
If you have a partner or a neighbour who books too, sharing a travel fee may save you more than a membership does. Your nurse will say so.
What it costs
It lowers the per-visit price rather than the drip itself. Published membership arrangements in this market commonly reduce per-session cost meaningfully for people booking monthly, which is the frequency they are designed around.
What it does not do is remove the travel fee logic. If your main cost is travel because you are far out, booking with someone else at the same address may save more than a membership will. Both together save most.
See group pricing, travel fees and drip pricing. Published ranges, dated, not a quote.

Common questions
When it pays, when it does not, and what else lowers the cost.
They told me to do three visits first and decide after. I did, and it made sense by then.
Asked the break-even number and got it immediately. That is why I signed.
They pointed out that booking with my partner would save more than a membership. It did.
Worth it for me, and I can see how it would not be for someone going twice a year. They said as much.
